Privacy Policy
The short version
Your notes are Markdown files in your own iCloud Drive (or in a folder on your device). Heedor does not receive them unless you use web sharing or Heedor Cloud.
Heedor does not sell data, does not show ads and does not track you across other apps or websites.
What we process, and why
- Publisher account (only if you share a page or use Heedor Cloud): the identifier Apple gives us when you use Sign in with Apple, the name you choose to share, and your username. We use it to know which pages are yours.
- Published pages: the text, attachments, page settings and password hash (never the password itself) of notes you choose to publish, and a count of how often a page was opened. We do not store who read a page.
- Heedor Cloud (Premium, optional, off by default): a copy of the files of your archive. It is created only after you choose Heedor Cloud and confirm it in Settings.
- Subscription: Apple processes your payment. We receive signed information from Apple about your subscription (product, expiry date, transaction identifier) to know whether Premium features are active. We never see your payment details.
- Push notifications: if you turn on page notifications, a device token, your language and your time zone, so we can notify you when a page reaches a view milestone.
- Usage statistics: Google Firebase Analytics records which screens and features are used, without any note, task, title or search text and without the advertising identifier. You can turn it off in Settings › Privacy.
- Security logs: network addresses and request data are processed briefly to keep the service secure, limit abuse and fix errors.
Readers of published pages
Opening a published page counts one view. No account is needed and no advertising or tracking cookies are used. Password-protected pages set one session cookie that is needed to keep the page unlocked.
Who else is involved
- Apple: iCloud (your notes), Sign in with Apple and the App Store.
- Google: Firebase Analytics and Cloud Messaging. If you connect Google Drive, your archive is copied between your device and your own Google account; Heedor can only see the files it creates there.
- Our hosting provider stores the data of web sharing and Heedor Cloud on our behalf.
Keeping and deleting your data
- Unpublish or delete a page at any time; its content and attachments are removed from our servers.
- Settings › iCloud and files › Sync › Delete my Heedor Cloud copy removes your cloud copy, even without a subscription.
- My web shares › Delete publisher account removes your account, pages, attachments, Heedor Cloud copy and push devices from our servers and ends the link with Sign in with Apple. Your notes in iCloud are not touched, and your App Store subscription is not cancelled; manage it in your Apple Account settings.
- If a subscription ends, your pages go offline and Heedor Cloud pauses, but nothing is deleted until you delete it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or the Turkish KVKK) you can ask us for access to, correction of or deletion of your data and object to processing. Most of this you can do yourself in the app; for anything else, contact us below.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters to you, we will update this page and the date above.
